hooooh boy there's quite a few but I'll make it quick Telltale's The Walking Dead got me into gaming again after despising all video games since childhood (because I was "so terrible" at them and found no pleasure in them when my older brothers always beat me in Mario Kart and stuff) The one video game I really enjoyed growing up was Yoshi's Island. I played it soooo much over the years, but I never beat it before I inevitably lost interest, and then it was stolen from my parents' car, along with all of my brother's handheld video game stuff. In the last 4 years (i guess) my sister got a digital copy downloaded onto her 3DS and I'd always borrow it and play late at night when I was supposed to be sleeping, and I think I finally beat it the summer before my freshman year! so that's like the one video game I grew up with.
After TWDG, which I just watched a youtuber play, I totally got into story-driven games and just watched Cryaotic play games until I was able to play games myself. My favorite game after TWD has to be The Last of Us. I was so immersed in the story and atmosphere, even with a youtuber's commentary. It really got to my ol' feelings, and who doesn't love games that make you cry? (((also I really related to Ellie and kind of had a crush on her because I was her age at the time rip.)))
i also have memories of me and my brother plaint sonic 06 lmao. we never got past the first level......,, but as for childhood i had a barbie horse game that i loved and my brother hated and as for now portal and bioshock infinite will always be special to me
I used to collect the cards too! (And some of the old figures). I think I started out watching the anime and that's what got me into it XD Ah cool! I remember Diamond being my first Pokemon game, since I didn't bother getting a GameBoy for the past generations haha
Pokemon Soul Silver: my very first Pokemon game, given to me by my best friend in 4th grade. she had bought Heart Gold and Soul Silver when they came out and i went over to her house one day and saw her playing that. she let me play for a while and was like "you can just have that game" and i kinda screamed. she kept Heart Gold and i played Soul Silver and we had so much fun with those games. i remember going to her house for sleepovers and us staying up to ungodly hours trading and battling with eachother. also just the game in general is so nice?? i think it's my favorite Pokemon game tbh
Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs: i feel like this is kind of obscure but again, i played this a LOT with my best friend. we always did the co-op missions trying to get new partner Pokemon. we'd stay up in bed and just play that game for HOURS on end. again, this is also in general a very pleasant game and the concept is rly neat imo
Call Of Duty: (more specifically the zombies mode) this one's kinda weird for me but?? my brother and i bonded a lot over this game (and also got into a lot of fights lmao). but i remember we'd grab our desk chairs and lug them out into the living room and set them down like a foot away from our flatscreen tv LMAO. we'd play this game for so long our parents would have to kick us off so they could watch tv. sometimes we'd even grab our iPods and listen to music while we played and not talk to eachother lmao
Halo 3 (i think?): my brother and i would do co-op stuff and generally just goof around lol. i have very fond memories of playing this with him during the summertime, with the blinds open slightly and warm weather. it makes me think of past summers a lot and i love that
Sonic '06 (literally don't remember the actual title): this game is notorious for being terrible but?? my brother and i had a lot of fun with it tbh. i mean we were very young and even we knew it wasn't good but we still played it nonetheless. we also fought a lot while playing this game. oops
aaa Ocarina of Time, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Mystery Dungeons, Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Banjo Kazooie, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Bros, Morrowind/Oblivion, uhh... hmm. I think that's it for childhood games.
otherwise, some others that came into my life a bit later were Twilight Princess, Fallout, Skyrim. I adore video games tbh ;v;
